"My art expresses the thought that within each of us resides a Higher Self separate from the ego. This Self can be uncovered through awareness as one strives to lift the veils of this beautiful core being. One can ‘lift off the lid,’ so to speak, to access this Higher Self and thus find peace, joy, light, and love.”
The marriage of art and spirituality is at the core of the late Pintki’s art and life. An accomplished ceramist and sculptor, Pintki, who lived in New York City and Taos, was also a Reiki Master Teacher, energy healer, and an ordained interfaith minister.
Pintki’s ceramic sculptures, fired in the Japanese raku tradition, emanate both light-hearted and tongue-in-cheek, macabre humor. Art critics have called her human-like forms—often adorned with fruit and body parts—“Bountiful Creatures.”
“My sculptures depict both the yin and yang—the light and dark—that exist in all of us. At our core we are goodness and light, but there is also a darker side at which we can only laugh.”
Pintki’s art has been exhibited in galleries throughout New York and New Mexico. The New York Times said of her New York City exhibition, "Pintki's pieces look like a cross between Mexican folk art and Austrian baroque church decorations. They are utterly engaging.”
